Personal & Ongoing Care
Nothing is more important than looking and feeling good for the day ahead. Here at Unite Care Group we understand that you may from time to time need a little extra assistance getting ready for the day ahead. We also know that asking for help and accepting it isn't always easy. But that is exactly what we are here for.
Our trained, friendly care team will work with you, assisting only where needed, helping you start the day at your pace, in a manner that you deserve.
And of course, there is the end of the day, we all become a little more tired as the day goes on. Don't worry we are here to help then as well. The same great care team, just later in the day.
We can help with:
- Washing/showering/bathing
- Oral hygiene
- Wardrobe selection/dressing
- Medication prompting
Dementia Care
The word 'dementia' describes a set of symptoms that may include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language. These changes are often small to start with, but for someone with dementia they have become severe enough to affect daily life. A person with dementia may also experience changes in their mood or behaviour.
Dementia is caused when the brain is damaged by diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease or a series of strokes. Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia, but not the only one. If you were diagnosed with dementia today, would you want to stay in your own home for as long as possible or move into a care home? Either way this decision should be up to you. But poor domiciliary care, lack of dementia training, means for many people this isn't happening.
Imagine not recognising a homecare worker who was trying to shower you. Now imagine how you would feel if that person was unsure of how to calm you and eventually stops trying... what would you do? At Unite Care Group we will not let that happen. All our care team have a basic level of dementia care training. We also have a team of care workers who have an advanced level of dementia care training. We can provide bespoke person-centred care suited for different stages of dementia.
Our aim is to help you manage the symptoms of dementia so that you can safely stay at home and in control of your life for as long as possible.
Companionship
We all get lonely from time to time. This can be for any number of reasons, illness, isolation, inability. Our care team can be a companion for you.
- They can assist you to and from hospital or medical appointments.
- Attend social events or days out.
- Pursue your hobbies and interests.
- Work on a jigsaw or crossword.
- Go for a walk to the local park or town.
Domestic Services
Our care team are happy to help around the house, with your chores or errands.
